Day 1: Grow out of your box at Sangam

Day 1 was about all the participants getting to know each other and their own self, strength, weaknesses, boundaries and aspirations.

They went through a Gallery of inspiring people who made changes in their lives and the lives of others such as Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and many more… The participants studied these people to know what made them this influential and how they were able to make this huge change in the world.

A Panel of speakers dropped by to share their own experiences in life where they changed their lives and  the lives of others. Such as Jen Barron Manager of Sangam, and Pooja R. Bhale that created an NGO called Protecterra where their mission is to change the human perspective and attitude towards ecology and bring about behavioral change among people through awareness, education and outreach, and finally a speaker from the NGO Maher.

At the end of the first day the participants worked on Personal change on how to overcome self-imposed limitations and go “Out of THEIR Box”, and how to have a better and more positive life and career and how to plan for their future aspirations.

first_dayDay 2: PUNE Challenge

The participants started their day with the Pune challenge where they got divided into groups and had 5 locations they needed to find their way too and get as much information as they can about the locations or the 2 NGOs that where part of the visits.

The NGOs were Green Tara that focuses on the overall development of adolescent girls, their health and helping them stand independently.

Deep Griha, which is an independent charitable organization working to better the lives of people living in the slums of Pune, India.

The whole day was interesting and challenging as some teams split and lost each other, some couldn’t find all the answers, while others remained together and finished their entire quest.

At the End of the Day it was time for a Movie Night with an amazing movie called “ Half The Sky” that showed the participants that anyone can help In changing the world even if they start with 1 person only.

Pune_Challenge2Day 3: Change Management 

Day 3 started with an amazing Yoga session with Jen the Manager of Sangam Center in Pune.

After this fresh start the participants started their organisational change training that ensures smooth transitions for both individuals and organisations. The following points below were discussed in details:

 

  • Why organisations need a solid change strategy process?
  • The consequences of not having a solid change strategy and process?
  • Key features of Organisational Change Management solutions.
  • Benefits of a solid organisational change approach.

At the end of the day a change simulation game was played where the stories, and role play begun.The day ended with a Maharastrian Dinner and Indian Night where all participants got to experience the Indian culture from food, clothes, to music and dancing.

Yoga_ChallengeDay 4: Personal change action plan

All the participants started the day of with setting their personal goals & objectives, and each participant ended up writing their personal change action plan and a timeframe to start with once back home.

Then the participants went out to Aga khan Palace where they went into Ghandis shoes and learned even more about his life & accomplishments.

The day ended with an amazingly fun International Night where each participant introduced their country’s culture through songs, dancing, food and traditional clothes…

The participants explored cross sector partnerships and sustainable change through creating and experiencing how partnerships happen between the community, private, public, and governmental sectors.

Finally this amazing training week ended by a closing ceremony and the distribution of the certificates.
